Minakshi

Minakshi Entertainments USA was founded in 1999 by Minakshi Bajpai, who is the Executive Director and Paul Haines, who is the Business Operations Director.

Minakshi is a professional female vocalist of North Indian descent who performs in Indian and English languages. Raised entirely in the USA, Minakshi's love for singing was apparent at an early age and it came naturally to her. She learned various tunes and raags by listening to her physician father sing songs by music Maestros such as K.L. Saigal, C.H. Atma and Pankaj Mullick and Talat Mahmood. A great inspiration to Minakshi is her maternal uncle and Professional Vocalist, Sri Protul K. Biswas, whose rich and golden voice enriched her life musically.

Having been referred to as one of the most promising vocalists in USA of Indian origin, her voice overflows with warmth and expressiveness and easily communicates her passion for music to the audience. Her performances reveal a curious melange of determination and fragility, of modernity and respect to the tradition, of seductive power and natural charm. Minakshi's music expression ranges from contemporary Bollywood hits, Golden Oldies, Ghazals, and Sufi styles. While her voice range capability is amazingly diverse, she maintains a mixture of upbeat rhythm coupled with a sensuality which reminds the listener of Asha Bhonsle, Usha Uthup and the late Geeta Dutt.

Minakshi has performed in the presence of renowned legendary "Aftab-E-Sitar" Ustad Vilayat Khan (May Allah rest his soul) who bestowed his blessings to her and Indian dignitaries as Indian Ambassadors Chandra, Lalit Man-Singh and the Indian Embassy to Indian Royalty such as the Maharani of Rajasthan (Scindia) Smt. Vasundara Raje. In addition, she has been requested to open Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh's show during one of his tours in New Jersey.
